A Story from Nusa Penida (Part I)

Mei 10, 2016

Hi everyone, how's your day? I write my very first post in this long weekend. But first, let me ask you a question, have you guys already found your getaway? If yes, please enjoy! But if you haven't have any plan yet, no worries! Here I come with a story about a spectacular places in Nusa Penida Island.

Actually, This is my last year experiences in Nusa Penida. Since I was placing in Nusa Penida for KKN - PPM ( kind of university duty on doing social service spread in many villages in Bali). A month lived in Nusa Penida was not enough for me. The place, the nature, the people I miss them everyday that I can smell Nusa Penida air only from my window. Such as memories that I can't forget. So now, I would  like to write about it. About the breathtaking places in Nusa Penida. And Here we go. I write it based on my memory and I hope this will not going to deviate heheheheh.

1. Temeling Natural Pool & Segara Temeling Beach
To reach this place you can use motorbike till the possible road you can hehehe ( cause for me the road is quite extreme especially on the unpaved road). And then you can continue by walking on your own feet ( don't force your boyfriend or anyone to piggyback you hehehehe). Keep going until you see a temple kept by Pecalang. You have to pay retribution for support the temple operational. Not expensive only IDR 5.000 and then go ahead take a down stair about 500 meter and you'll find it. The wonderful natural blue water known as the men's pool. Yeaaahhh you can directly jump in but remember, since it is a holy place we have to keep the sanctity of the place by not doing things that are not allowed. To get to the women pool and the beach you need to step down stair about 300 meter.
This is the men's pool of Temeling natural Pool

 With Love,

First place I visited was Temeling Natural Pool located in Batumadeg Village. There are two pool in Temeling , in the upper side is the pool for men only and in the downside after take few stair you'll see the pool for women that smaller than men pool in the size. And right next to the women pool, there is a beach named Segara Temeling with its big coral reef cave and beautiful sunset view in indian ocean. Ehmm..you can imagine it.

Actually I want to show you the beauty of the women’s pool, But since the theme of the photo is girls day out, so we covered it. For that I’m so sorry.

And this is the Segara Temeling. I’m sorry cause I don’t find the picture on my file, So I use this pict. Photo credit to http://bali-nusapenida.blogspot.co.id/v

2. Banah Suset Point

At the same day as I visited Temeling I went to Banah Sunset Point, located in the same village as Temeling, Batumadeg – Nusa Penida. As the name ( Sunset Point ) this place is one of the best spot to see  sunset in Nusa Penida. But unfortunately, at that time the sky was uncleared. I cannot see the sunset. Indian Ocean is the main view and there is a big stone with the hole in the center there.

And this is another point in Banah

3. Crystal Bay

Third place is Crystal Bay located in Sakti Village.  A cool and exotic beach with white sands full of coconut trees along the way and beautiful sunset view, So Breathtaking.. people called it CRYSTAL BAY as the water so clear like a crystal. In the middle of the sea there’s a small island ( I don't know if we could name it as an island or only a rock with a temple above) So beautiful, I don’t know why this place remind me about Taiwan’s Drama ( Love at the Dolphin Bay ) which most of the setting placed in beach and sea. Crystal bay also well known as a diving and snorkeling point in Nusa Penida.

This is Crystal Bay

Beach life would be like this, just relaaaaaxxxx !!!

4. Pasih Uug ( Broken Beach )

One of Nusa Penida’s famous landmark Located in Bunga Mekar Village is Pasih Uug or Broken Beach.  The reef with big hole in the middle very popular and becoming a must go place in Nusa Penida. A local man told us the myth ( still confuse whether it should call a myth or legend, since it is related to a place, It might be more precisely termed as a legend)  behind the appearance of Pasih Uug. Now I’ll tell you guys about the story as far as I remember. Ehm.. (I’m sorry if I got mistaken).

Long time ago, Pasih Uug located in a united region ( not separated by sea). Till there were  a case where a villager accidentally kills a holy snake cut it into pieces and then distributed them to other villagers. They do not know that is snake meat, and they all ate it. Until finally a grandfather came over and asked why did you kill the holy snake and ate the meat? villagers feel they do not kill and eat snakes. They said we did not do that, to prove that then grandfather was challenging the villagers if you are honest you will succeed revoke this stick, but otherwise you will not be able to revoke this stick if you lie. Finally villagers undertakes the challenge and none of them were able to revoke the stick even with the strength of a dozen people. At that time, the grandfather was very angry, and there was destruction leading to the broken beach. ( the story as far as I remember told by Pak Komang to us)
This is Broken Beach, I took the pict with my precious dirty sandal hehehehe

5. Angel’s Billabong

Located in the same area as Pasih Uug A.K.A Broken beach, only need 10 minute trackking from Pasih Uug you’ll find this natural and infinity pool ( feels like in private villa). Known as Angel’s Billabong. We should be carefull on the way since we’ll passing trough the sharp rock. You can swim in this pool and enjoy the sea view but still we have to wary of the big waves that enter the Angel’s billabong area. Ehmmm.. OK

6. Pasih Andus

Located in Bunga Mekar Village near Pasih Uug. If you want to see the beat of the waves crashing against the reef, this beach is the right spot. Like in waterblow , Nusa Dua or Devil’s Tear in Nusa Ceningan Island.
Unfortunately I failed capture the big waves, Sorry! But the sunset is beautiful isnt it?

Ok guys, The rest  I’ll continue post it by tommorow. Now I better sleep hahaha. There are still a lot of wonderful places in Nusa Penida guys.

With Love
